Foundation Degree in Dance Performance
In partnership with New College Durham, Gateway Studio is now offering a bespoke Foundation Degree in Dance Performance. This unique 2 year programme will offer conservatoire level training right here in the North East of England to students who aspire to enter the professional world of dance or transition to further study.
As one of the North East’s leading dance providers, offering young people access to high quality professional dance training, Gateway brings a delivery team of highly successful Artists and links to the professional world to this programme.

Skills you’ll develop by the end of the programme, you will:
Be able to demonstrate your performance skills and artistry in a professional context.
Have an awareness of different techniques, practitioners and contexts that have helped shape the contemporary dance industry.
Be able to engage with the practical, theoretical and creative aspects of the devising, rehearsing and performance process when creating a production.
Understand professional practices and opportunities within dance, with an awareness of current trends and developments.
You’ll take part in
Workshops, classes and lectures.
Performances, festivals and auditions. Placements and live briefs.
Projects and community events.
