Community Classes
Gateway Studio believe that inclusivity in the arts has the power to bring communities together and to change lives.
We are constantly adding to our program of Community Classes for adults, where current fitness or experience is not an issue, just a willingness to have a go!
Summer Timetable
Classes resume on Monday 22nd April 2024 at Over the Road Studio, 224 High Street, Gateshead, NE8 1AQ.
Adult Contemporary Dance
Mondays 7:00pm - 8:00pm
£7 per class, pay as you go.
A contemporary based dance class for adults (participants aged 16+) working on contemporary technique and movement phrases to improve strength, fitness, body alignment and flexibility. This class is taught by Martin Hylton, Artistic Director.
Contemporary Dance Open Class
Mondays & Tuesdays 10:00am - 11:30am
Free, must book on
Open class for professionals and dance students (participants aged 16+) exploring contemporary styles and technique.
Open Company Class with Bawren Tavaziva
April 15, 16, 17, 18 & 19 10:00am - 11:30am
Free, must book on
Dancers aged 18+ are invited to explore Bawren Tavaziva’s unique style and technique, a dynamic synthesis of contemporary, ballet and African dance, in an energetic, lively and supportive environment.
Directions:
You can find us 2 mins walk from Gateshead Metro Station; we are right in the middle of Gateshead High Street.
Parking:
A limited amount of on-street parking available in front and behind the Trinity Centre studio, this is FREE after 6pm. Alternatively there is parking available in the Tesco Extra Car Park nearby.
Safety Guidelines:
Hoodies, t-shirts, tracksuit bottoms (baggys) can be worn to travel to and from class and can be taken off before and during class.
Shoes and socks must be kept in the changing area along with your belongings.
On finishing class, dancers are asked to collect their belongings from the changing area before leaving the building.
If you / your child is not feeling well or develops any COVID-19 symptoms please do not attend class.
