Debbie Hylton - Assistant Director and Head of Education & Community Dance

Debbie started taking dance lessons seriously when she joined Trafford Youth Dance Theatre aged 13.  

On completion of a BTEC in Performing Arts and Dance she successfully auditioned for the Northern School of Contemporary Dance and graduated with a BA Hons in 1997.  She then went on to become a founder member of Sharon Watson's ABCD Dance and embarked upon several UK tours, whilst also delivering the company's education programme.  

Debbie has worked with many of the UK's professional dance community such as Richard Alston and Dancers.

Debbie received international recognition as she was the first white dancer to join the acclaimed RJC Dance in Leeds.  Debbie completed numerous UK tours as principal dancer whilst also responsible for creating the company's education programme, becoming Education and Choreographic Coordinator.

Debbie has always taught throughout her career, including GCSE and BTEC Dance, in various organisations, both academic and professional, such as: Garforth Community CollegeNorthern Ballet TheatreNorthern School of Contemporary Dance and Trinity All Saints University, Leeds.  

Debbie currently offers regional support to educational establishments and community organisations.
